I lied… Went out to survey downtown Saint Petersburg and found some heavy damage at the Vinoy Club. I’m told that a Hatteras sunk as a result of injuries sustained when major parts of their floating dock broke free. The boat is currently being hauled out for repairs, might try to get pictures of it tomorrow.
The pictures were taken at 8:30PM or there abouts.
The Vinoy docks are toast…

Well, probably my final Dennis entry. It’s high tide and the water has almost completely receded. A final picture to compare to, I expect the streets to be dry by around 6:30PM even though the next low tide isn’t until 12:13AM (read midnight) tomorrow morning.
I’m wondering what kind of effect Dennis might have on all fish kills from the red tide we’ve been having lately and on the red tide itself. Hopefully he’ll pull all of the nastiness out of the bay.

So, it’s 1:12PM about 3 1/2 hours before high tide and the flood waters have started to recede. Looks like no water in the house this time. We’ll see what the 4:35 high tide has in store for us.

So Dennis has passed us by, but not after splashing us with a really large puddle… What a jerk…
In any case, let the Shore Acres Flood begin! At about 6:00AM the wife noticed we were getting water in the streets, high tide was at 6:36AM, so that should be good news… However, it’s 12:28PM right now and even though low tide was at 10:21AM the water continues to rise.
This is caused, most likely, by the winds from Dennis pushing water into the bay and subsequently up the storm drains into …
