Few have been spared the satire of Matt Groening’s long running animated sitcom. Last night, The Simpsons took on Apple, or uh, Mapple for a full 6 minutes of lampoonery — a pretty harsh ride at a two-joke per minute pace. It all starts when the Springfield mall gets its very own Mapple store, “it’s so sterile,” gasps Lisa upon entering. Perhaps the best exchange comes from Bart’s dubbing of a Steve Mobs’ product announcement in front of a crowd of gaping nerds, “You think you’re cool because you buy a $500 phone with a picture of a fruit on it. Well guess what? They cost 8 bucks to make and I pee on every one!” A Mapple store employee then angrily responds, “Who dares question the boss we fired 10 years ago and then brought back!” Yuk yuk.

Is someone trying to tell us something? Did something important happen on November 5th?

Yes this is real, it’s straight from the Illinois State Lottery web site.

Thanks Cathy!

Follow up from Cathy:

But fear not.
Yesterday’s midday pick 3 numbers were 7-7-9.
The evening pick 4 numbers yesterday were 7-7-7-9.

The meanings of Biblical numbers:

9 THE NUMBER OF JUDGMENT. There are 9 greek words derived from the root word meaning judgment = dikay. The following words each occur 9 times in the Bible: abussos (bottomless pit); asebee (ungodly); aselgeia (lasciviousness); and astrapee (lightning). The gifts of the spirit are 9 in number (1 Cor. 12:8-10): the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

And the number 7:

7 THE NUMBER OF SPIRITUAL PERFECTION. Seven days in a week. Seven colors in the spectrum. Seven of the 10 commandments begin with the word “not.” There are 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 parables in Matthew, and 7 promises to the churches. There are 7 “eternals” in Hebrews which are: A priest for ever (1:6); Eternal salvation (1:9); Eternal judgment (6:2); eternal redemption (9:12); eternal spirit (9:14); eternal inheritance (9:15); and everlasting covenant (13:20). Jesus said 7 things on the cross: 1) Luke 23:34 “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots; 2) Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise”; 3) Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” — which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”; 4) John 19:26 “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son”; 5) John 19:28 “Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 6) John 19:30 “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit”; and 7) Luke 23:46 “Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.” “Hallelujah” occurs 28 times or 4 x 7. “Hosanna” occurs 7 times. “Milk” occurs 49 times or 7 x 7. “Abaddon” occurs 7 times. “After the order of Melchizedek” occurs 7 times.

The image is a simple VMware diagram that is available on the VMware website, but they felt the need to not only rip it from my site, but to link directly to it on my site, costing me additional bandwidth and server load.

So this is what happens when you hotlink to images on a site you don’t own:

Suspect Site Before:

Suspect Site After:

(Oddly enough, the image i chose was also being hotlinked from a forum, but I am hosting it now)

If you want to see the poor sap’s page, you can check it out but ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK HOWEVER, it doesn’t look like a very legit site:

The Nintendo Wii has surely revolutionized gaming as we know it. Rabid fanboys everywhere are now flailing their arms in delight as they wield the Wiimote as a tennis racket, baseball bat or sword. Problem is the average gaming geek is just not up to the strenuous task of vigorous arm movement for longer than 10 minutes. This makes those extended play sessions a thing of the ...

For those of you who think the Wii is too much work, ThinkGeek has come to the rescue!

This makes those extended play sessions a thing of the past… and who wants to beef up at the gym just to play video games on your couch? We sure don’t.

Fortunately for cream puffs everywhere the WiiHelm is now available at ThinkGeek. Simply lock your existing Wiimote into the stylish white helmet and free your hands for relaxation… or other important tasks. After extensive scientific study it was found that manipulating muscles in your neck for 10 minutes uses 64% less energy than waving your arms about like a lunatic. The WiiHelm works great with all of your favorite Wii games and the included foot pedal allows easy button presses using minimal toe effort. Plus the amazing Wiimote Saf-T-Lok technology and double reinforced head strap save you thousands of dollars in damaged flat-screen repair charges.

Important Note:
The WiiHelm does not include a Wii console or controller. You need to supply your own, or trade your PS3 for a Wii on eBay. Games requiring the Nunchuck are currently not supported by the WiiHelm*
