My name is Catherine and I live with my husband Joe and our two beagles, Jake and Abby, in Chicago, IL. In February, we are finally going to realize our dream of becoming parents when we adopt a baby boy, due on Valentine’s Day!

We are thrilled to be expectant parents, but as you can imagine, there are many financial
hurdles to overcome. That’s why I created “Catherine’s Cakes.”

Every time I make a pound cake for someone, they rave about how wonderful it is and insist that I should sell them.
I never had the inclination to sell them before. I enjoy baking for people, and enjoy seeing their reaction when they get a cake. I was pondering how to raise money for our adoption expenses when I thought about the cakes.
So that’s how I came to create this website. All my cakes are shipped USPS 2-day or overnight – your choice.
They are all securely packaged. Most importantly, they are all delicious!
